3926 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084

Ahmad and Marianna Alzoukani ran a catering and mobile-espresso company before they took the lease at 3926 Lawrenceville Highway, and Mint Coffeehouse — نعنع on the sign — opened as a full-service cafe on 15 August 2024. 285 South folded it into its March 2025 survey of the Middle Eastern cafes reshaping metro Atlanta's coffee scene, noting that the pair had brought the shop to Tucker alongside fellow newcomer Mokhaport. Ahmad's Syrian heritage is written into the room: the decor is Syrian-inspired, and the food menu carries manaeesh, the flatbread baked with cheese and vegetables, next to the toasts, quick bites and pastries a conventional American cafe would stock. Catering and the mobile espresso cart still run out of the same business, serving the wider Atlanta area.

The drinks are straightforward and honestly priced rather than elaborate. A Colombian blend is used for both the espresso and the drip coffee. The Mint Mocha Latte is the house special the owners point first-timers towards, and the chai latte is made in-house rather than poured from a concentrate — a small distinction that matters in a category where most cafes do the opposite. Matcha, cold brew and fruit smoothies including a strawberry-banana fill out the board, and oat milk is stocked. There is no alcohol on the premises and no licence. What keeps Mint at a four rather than a five on our scale is simply the clock: it trades 7:30am to 6pm on weekdays, 8am to 5pm on Saturday and closes on Sunday, so it functions as a daytime third place — a good one, in a suburb short of independent options — rather than as an evening destination the way the later-trading Yemeni coffeehouses elsewhere in the metro do. For anyone in east DeKalb looking for a substantial, alcohol-free room to meet in during the day, it is among the best available.
