Mita's opened in 2015 as the second restaurant from James Beard-nominated chef Jose Salazar, following his flagship Salazar in Over-the-Rhine. He named it for his Colombian grandmother, Martha Mejia de Toro — his "Mita" — recalling summers in Medellín watching her grind white masa into the arepas and empanadas that now anchor the menu. The 130-seat dining room sits in the 84.51° building at Fifth and Race, and pays homage to the traditional and modern food of Spain and Latin America: tapas, ceviches, cured hams, cheeses, and a Valencian-style paella for two. Cincinnati Magazine reviewed it warmly and later ranked it among the city's best restaurants.

The non-alcoholic offering lives in a clearly labeled "No Alcoholicas" section of the cocktail-and-beer list. Two house mocktails are built on Ritual Zero Proof's tequila alternative: the Sacrificio (guava, hibiscus, lime) and the Paloma Picante (grapefruit, jalapeño, ginger, agave nectar, lime, soda), each $12.50. The kitchen also pours Best Day Brewing non-alcoholic beer in lime cerveza or West Coast IPA ($7) and Leitz Eins-Zwei-Zero non-alcoholic sparkling wine ($13), plus Jarritos, Mexican fountain sodas, Deeper Roots coffee, and Churchill's Fine Teas for zero-proof drinkers.

Mita's serves dinner Monday through Thursday 5–10pm and Friday and Saturday 4–10pm, with reservations available through OpenTable and a comfortable bar and lounge for walk-ins. It suits a date night or celebration where one person wants a full, flavor-driven tapas dinner without alcohol and still a real drink in hand. Note this is a restaurant bar rather than an alcohol-free venue, and the "No Alcoholicas" list is a short, curated section — two mocktails plus NA beer and sparkling — that can shift as the seasonal cocktail menu changes.
