Ritual Zero Proof

Beyond the Bar is DFW's first alcohol-free bottle shop and dry bar, and by its own account the only one in Texas — a zero-proof shop and tasting room in a 1958 mid-century building in Richardson's Core District. The range runs past 280 products, from Athletic, Seedlip, Lyre's and Ritual to Almave, Ghia, Pathfinder and De Soi, alongside dealcoholised wines and functional drinks. The bar pours its own builds, including the Italian Spritz that won the Dallas Observer's Best Mocktail award, and the room hosts tastings and zero-proof cocktail classes.

Free Spirits is Idaho's first alcohol-free bottle shop, and unusually it is also a manufacturer — the business began in 2018 as the bitters maker iOnE and became a full non-alcoholic beverage company in 2020, producing its own products in-house with no preservatives. The shelves carry its own shrub cocktail mixes, including the smoky Luke Peary and the sweet Cherry Chill, alongside national ranges like Ritual Zero Proof. It also runs the Temperance Trail, a Dry January passport of eight alcohol-free stops across Boise now in its third year, which makes this shop the organising centre of the city's sober scene rather than only its supplier.

Monday Morning is San Diego's first exclusively non-alcoholic bottle shop and tasting room, opened in Pacific Beach in late 2024 by founder Zane Curtis after he embraced a sober lifestyle. The shop stocks more than 500 zero-proof products — non-alcoholic beer (IPAs, lagers, stouts, sours, wheat), dealcoholized wine, spirit alternatives (gin, whiskey, tequila, rum), ready-to-drink mocktails, and functional drinks with adaptogens and nootropics — across 50-plus brands including Athletic, Bravus, Partake, Seedlip, and Ritual. A tasting bar lets customers sample anything before buying, with staff guiding selections. Curtis's business also handles NA distribution, custom recipes, staff training, and events, and in January 2026 it opened a second location in Ocean Beach.

A tasting bar lets customers try anything before buying, and because the OB space is compact, the team opens the windows to serve the boardwalk. It's a genuine alcohol-free retail-and-tasting destination steps from the beach.

Founded in 2017 by Chris Marshall, Sans Bar is widely regarded as one of the first dedicated non-alcoholic bars in North America. Located one block south of the Texas Capitol, the downtown space is the cornerstone of Marshall's mission to create alcohol-free spaces that don't feel like substitutes. Marshall, a substance-use counselor since 2009 and sober since 2007, has been featured in The New York Times, Men's Health, USA Today, and has spoken at the Aspen Ideas Festival. Bar Manager Valentina, who joined in November 2022, overhauled the menu and now consults with bars and restaurants worldwide on their non-alcoholic programs. Beyond the bar itself, the Sans Bar Academy has helped launch over 40 alcohol-free bars and bottle shops across the United States, Canada, and Australia. The room hosts live music most Fridays at 8pm and rotating wellness collaborations through a partnership with Swift Fit Events.

Sober Bar is a fully zero-proof bar and specialty coffee spot in downtown Gulfport — every drink on the menu is 100% alcohol-free. Opened in June 2026 after a run as a Tampa Bay pop-up, it's a New Orleans speakeasy-inspired room that pulls espresso, matcha, and kava-coffee drinks by day and pours craft zero-proof cocktails — Call Me an Ube, Red Widow, Linn & Juniper, Bee's Bouquet — on alcohol-alternative spirits by night, with NA beer and wine on hand. Owners Sean Hawthorne and Collin Horton built the room dark and moody rather than bright and wellness-adjacent, which is a deliberate signal about who it is for. Open 7am to 10pm midweek and to 1am at weekends — a genuinely rare thing for an alcohol-free venue.

Spirited Away was America's first booze-free bottle shop and it is still the most complete one in New York, now on Eighth Avenue in Chelsea after starting life on Mott Street. Nothing on the shelves contains meaningful alcohol. The buy runs past 100 brands — Seedlip and Ritual Zero Proof alongside Ghia and The Pathfinder, Copenhagen Sparkling Tea, Unified Ferments, non-alcoholic wines from Sovi and Prima Pave, plus beers, bitters, shrubs, amari, mixers and ready-to-drink cocktails. It opens noon to 8pm every day of the week and delivers across Manhattan, free over $100. The shop is not just retail: it runs in-store tastings and events, which for a lot of people is the low-pressure way into the category.

The Open Road is an alcohol-free bottle shop on Penn Avenue in Garfield, founded by Mel Babitz and widely described as the country's oldest non-alcoholic specialty retailer. It began as a Dry January pop-up inside a downtown coffee shop in January 2020, took a storefront in Allentown in March 2022, and moved to the larger Garfield space — with room for an on-premise bar — in August 2024. Babitz says the shelves hold over 400 non-alcoholic beers, wines, spirits and ready-to-drink cocktails, with a deliberate emphasis on Pennsylvania producers including Jackworth, Two Frays, Cinderlands and Arsenal Cider House. IMPORTANT FOR ANYONE AVOIDING ALL INTOXICANTS: by the owner's own account roughly half the store is functional beverages rather than plain alcohol-free ones, and that half includes hemp-derived THC and CBD drinks, kava and adaptogenic mushroom products. Examples carried include a 10mg THC seltzer, a 20mg CBD seltzer, a hemp-and-lion's-mane soda at 3mg THC, and a kava spirit at 150mg kavalactones per serving. Everything is labelled, but alcohol-free is not the same as inert here — read the can.

The Zero Co. is Atlanta's first dedicated non-alcoholic bottle shop, opened in December 2022 in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood by Cory and Malory Atkinson, the husband-and-wife team behind nearby Elemental Spirits Co. The shop grew out of the rapidly growing zero-proof section at Elemental and stocks more than 500 non-alcoholic products — spirit alternatives, de-alcoholized wines, NA beers, and ready-to-drink cans — alongside locally made shrubs, vinegars, bitters, and elixirs. A bar-cart sample station lets customers taste before buying, and the space hosts tastings and events. Carried brands include Ghia, Seedlip, Lyre's, Wilderton, Ritual Zero Proof, De Soi, Three Spirit, Free Spirits, Athletic Brewing, and more. As co-owner Malory Atkinson put it, the goal was a "warm and welcoming" space for all kinds of drinkers and non-drinkers.

Wallace Dry Goods is Ardmore's first fully non-alcoholic bottle shop, opened in early 2024 by owner Robin Cummiskey on the Main Line at 1 West Lancaster Avenue. Styled like a traditional bottle shop — shelves of "whiskey," wine, gin, and mixers — it stocks zero liquor; everything is alcohol-free. The shop sells NA spirits, beer, wine, cider, mixers, bitters, syrups, and ready-to-drink cans, plus barware, so non-drinkers have the same tools to build cocktails at home. Brands carried include Ghia, Ritual Zero Proof, Cut Above, Seedlip, Lyre's, Athletic Brewing, Abstinence, and Mingle Mocktails. A daily in-store tasting bar pours rotating samples and the occasional craft mocktail, and the shop hosts classes and events. Wallace Dry Goods was named Best Non-Alcoholic Bottle Shop in Philadelphia Magazine's 2024 Best of Philly awards.

Adrift Tiki Bar is an immersive Polynesian and Caribbean-inspired tiki bar on South Broadway in Denver, established in 2011 and bought in 2016 by current owner Loren Martinez, who also runs Little Man Ice Cream. The room is a full tropical build: a totem-pole-flanked bar, pufferfish lights, and an outdoor patio with a firepit, with a kitchen turning out spice-route Polynesian and Caribbean plates to match the rum-forward list. The menu carries a dedicated "On Dry Land (No ABV)" section — Anchored Tides (ginger, lime, demerara, Leopold Bros non-alcoholic aperitif), the N/A Mai Tai and N/A Painkiller (both built on Ritual N/A Rum), and the P.O.G. of passion fruit, orange and guava — plus a Mash Gang non-alcoholic IPA. A separate "In Shallow Water" section lists low-ABV cocktails for guests moderating rather than abstaining. Vince Polizzi is bar manager.

Bar Hygge is a Fairmount brewpub open since 2016, run by owners Stew and Julie Keener, Tom Baker, and Peggy Zwerver. Named for the Danish concept of cozy contentment (pronounced "huu-guh"), it houses Brewery Techne, a 10-barrel brewhouse pouring rotating house draft and cask beers alongside contemporary American boards and comfort-food entrees. The venue is recognized for an inclusive, sober-friendly approach: alongside the bar's cocktails and draft wines, it stocks alcohol-removed wine, a zero-proof amaro, and signature non-alcoholic cocktails. Visit Philadelphia's zero-proof guide highlights two named mocktails — "Amateur Jazz," built on Ritual's gin alternative with cinchona bark, herbs, citrus, and soda, and "Spice Up Your Life," made with Seedlip Garden 108, caramelized pineapple, strawberry oleo saccharum, jalapeño, lemon, and soda — plus a lavender lemonade and a Ritual/Seedlip spritz. Located near Eastern State Penitentiary, it's a neighborhood favorite for drinkers and non-drinkers alike.
