Hinterland is Manchester's only permanent, purpose-built fully alcohol-free bar and vegan café, tucked into the basement of the Manchester Buddhist Centre in the Northern Quarter. Opened in June 2024 as a registered community interest company, it was founded by Stephen Jeffreys — drawing on his own recovery — with friends from the Buddhist Centre. The menu runs to eight alcohol-free cocktails alongside no- and low-alcohol beers, wines, ciders, kombucha and speciality teas, with vegan food from the Wholesome Junkies pop-up kitchen. Expect live music, spoken word and sober socials in a calm, dark-green room.

ZERO Cocktail Bar bills itself as Canada's first non-alcoholic cocktail bar, pairing a full bar with an in-house bottle shop on Carlton Street in Toronto's Cabbagetown. The menu runs to fourteen named zero-proof cocktails - from a Power Serve of alternative whiskey and ginger beer to a Sorrel Negroni of hibiscus and spiced sorrel - built on NA brands including Free Spirits, Ghia, DR ZERO and Noughty. A retail bottle shop stocks NA wines, beers and alternative spirits alongside a café menu of hot and cold coffee drinks and pub food like loaded fries and grilled cheese.

Hey Love is an award-winning tropical cocktail lounge and restaurant set inside the Jupiter NEXT hotel at 920 East Burnside Street, in Portland's Buckman neighbourhood. It opened in October 2018, the project of co-owners Aaron Hall and Nicholas Musso — also behind the longtime Portland bar Dig A Pony — with a bartending team drawing on years at Portland institutions including Dig A Pony and Rum Club. The plant-filled, jungle-inspired room is full of ferns, vintage lanterns and local art, and the bar was named the nation's best hotel bar at Tales of the Cocktail's Spirited Awards in 2023. It keeps a dedicated non-alcoholic menu section with a title worth the walk on its own — "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, No Proof" — carrying named zero-proof cocktails built on real non-alcoholic spirits such as Pathfinder, St. Agrestis and Giffard's non-alcoholic aperitif.

The Lucky Saint is the alcohol-free beer brand's first permanent pub, on Devonshire Street in Marylebone — a restored Victorian pub built around the alcohol-free pint rather than treating it as an afterthought. It serves a full bar of spirits, wine and cask beer as well, so this is a mixed room rather than a dry one, but the depth of the no-and-low list is the reason to come: around fifteen per cent of drinks sold here are alcohol-free. It pours the brand's own unfiltered 0.5% lager and a newer IPA alongside a rotating range of low- and no-alcohol beers, ciders and cans, Italian aperitivo bitters such as Crodino, and a short list of alcohol-free cocktails, with a full food menu. It is one of the clearest signs of London's shift: a busy, all-day pub where ordering a zero-proof pint is the unremarkable choice.
