El Carlos Elegante is a Mexico City-inspired restaurant in the Dallas Design District from Duro Hospitality, the local group behind The Charles. The space is modeled after a Mexican hacienda with finishes, materials, and furniture sourced almost exclusively from Mexico, a front courtyard with an oversized fireplace and retractable roof, and a U-shaped bar. The kitchen runs an in-house masa program that nixtamalizes heirloom corn into scratch tortillas, teletas, and tostadas, alongside a wood-fired Argentinian-style grill, crudo and ceviche, and a global wine list. It has been recognized by the MICHELIN Guide as 'Recommended' for two consecutive years.

The beverage program leans heavily on mezcal and agave, but non-drinkers are served a dedicated, named 'Limonada Stand' section of zero-proof drinks priced at $9 each: Ace's Bell Pepper, Jamaica-Hibiscus, and Pear Lemonade. CraveDFW described the Limonada Stand as 'a pear and hibiscus dream that doesn't skimp on complexity,' and Dallas CultureMap featured the section in its Dry January mocktail roundup, confirming it as a real, printed part of the menu rather than an off-menu Shirley Temple.

El Carlos Elegante is open for dinner nightly at 1400 N Riverfront Blvd, from 5pm, closing at 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are available via OpenTable, and the restaurant is operated by Dallas-based Duro Hospitality.
