Loyal Legion is a Portland beer hall that opened in 2015 in the historic P.P.A.A. building at SE 6th & Alder, created by Kurt Huffman and his ChefStable restaurant group. It is named after a vintage "Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen" sign Huffman discovered in 2008, now hung over the room's central bar. The hall is built around a roughly 99-tap lineup devoted almost exclusively to Oregon beer and cider, alongside a large whiskey selection, sausages and burgers; ChefStable has since expanded the concept to Beaverton and the Portland airport.
Loyal Legion also maintains a notably deep non-alcoholic draft and can program, which it spotlights each Dry January with curated craft NA pours and tasting events featuring NA producers. Verified non-alcoholic offerings have included Best Day Brewing American Light N/A Lager and N/A Kölsch, HECK Brewing "Gentle Persuasion" Golden Ale, Bitburger N/A Pilsner, Crux NO MO West Coast and Hazy IPAs, plus Lazy Days "Hop Gossip" hop water. As a beer-hall venue, the NA selection is poured at the same central bar as the main tap list.
