Luma Restaurant

Luma occupies the second floor of TIFF Bell Lightbox in Reitman Square at 350 King St W, overlooking King Street West in Toronto's Entertainment District. Part of the Oliver & Bonacini restaurant group, the space pairs a dining room finished in rich woods, leather and stone with a lounge of plush sofas and eye-catching artwork, set behind floor-to-ceiling windows. Chef de Cuisine John Lynch, Michelin-trained with kitchen experience in the U.K., leads a globally inspired, locally sourced menu built on fresh fish and seafood, quality meats and seasonal vegetables.

The bar carries a genuine, named "Spirit-Free" section alongside its cocktail, wine and beer lists. Drinks include the Rosemary Mist (grapefruit and lemon juice, rosemary syrup, club soda, dehydrated lemon, $8), the LUMA-NADE (lemongrass, lavender syrup, lemon juice, q water, $6), Flower Power (hibiscus rose tea syrup, orange blossom water, lime juice, club soda, $10), Robin (blackberry syrup, lime juice, ginger beer, club soda, $11), The Great Gentleman Ginger Beer ($5) and Dante's Detox (jalapeno wheels, pineapple juice, lime juice, Old Thyme Jamaican ginger beer), plus three non-alcoholic beers.

The non-alcoholic drinks also anchor Luma's "Magic Hour" happy hour, which runs Tuesday to Saturday from 4-5:30pm and again from 8pm to close, alongside discounted cocktails ($7-$9), 16oz house beer ($6) and 5oz wine pours ($9). Oliver & Bonacini's own editorial has spotlighted the program directly, writing that Luma's Magic Hour "delivers a glowing lineup of booze-free beverages" - a rare instance of an O&B property naming its non-alcoholic offering in its own press.
