Naïve Kitchen + Bar

Naïve opened in Butchertown as a deliberately health-forward restaurant — vegetable-centric, seasonal, eco-conscious down to the fit-out — and won LEO Weekly's Readers Choice award for Best Butchertown Restaurant. That positioning made it a natural fit for a non-alcoholic guide, and its drinks list backed it up: a Grapefruit Thyme Spritz, an apricot tarragon shrub soda, and a ginger turmeric mule built on Modica, the Louisville-founded mixer company started by JD Mitchell and Eric Wentworth, whose superfood-based cocktail mixes are used for mocktails by roughly a third of their buyers. GoToLouisville, the city's official visitor bureau, listed Naïve among the best places in town to drink alcohol-free.

The restaurant has since relaunched. It now describes itself as globally inspired and locally executed, with bold seasonal flavours and a Latin soul, trading from the same corner at 1001 East Washington Street with a new menu. We have verified that it is open and trading — the address, phone and hours here come from the restaurant's own site — but we have not been able to verify which alcohol-free drinks survived the change, so the named builds above are recorded as its documented past programme rather than as a current menu. One note for anyone checking this venue elsewhere: Yelp currently carries a CLOSED flag on the old Naïve listing, which reflects the end of the previous concept rather than the end of the business. The restaurant is open, Thursday through Monday, from 11am, with the kitchen running to 9pm on Sunday and Monday and 10pm Thursday through Saturday, and it is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Butchertown puts Copper & Kings' rooftop, Pizza Lupo and the relocated Cultured cheese and charcuterie bar all within a short walk.
