No More Cafe occupies a low-key storefront on East 13th Street between First and Second Avenues, and it operates without a drop of alcohol on the premises. Opened in April 2024 by chef Rodrigo Nogueira, it fills an obvious gap: a place in the East Village where you can stay until midnight, drink something sophisticated, and not feel like you're settling. The room reads like a Parisian café — botanical wallpaper, warm ambient light, marble-top tables — and functions as a workspace during the day and a proper bar environment after dark. Every drink on the menu is zero-proof: original cocktails, specialty coffee, loose-leaf tea, kava, and adaptogenic shots.
Nogueira, a culinary-school graduate who worked as a corporate chef for the Michael Mina Group before opening No More, builds his cocktails from scratch using real ingredients — herbs, citrus, roots — and never extracts or artificial flavors. The Island Echo leads with sharp lime, soft ginger, and a finish of cacao; the Agave Phantom layers Lapsang Souchong smoke with charred citrus and a jalapeño burn; the Amber Dream uses roasted barley, rye, and oak chips to produce something closer to a slow-sipping whiskey experience than a conventional mocktail. Four of the signatures are also bottled and available to ship nationwide. Village Preservation described the cocktail bases as requiring ingredients like charred banana, burnt oak chips, black pepper, star anise, and angelica root — the level of prep you'd expect at a serious craft bar.
No More draws a mixed crowd — not exclusively non-drinkers — and the space is designed to function as a genuine third place: high-speed Wi-Fi, outlets at nearly every table, live jazz on Thursday nights, and a programming calendar that in summer 2025 included every match of the FIFA World Cup screened alcohol-free. Walk-ins are welcome; table reservations are available for members on event nights and for groups. No dress code. Lonely Planet named it one of its 20 favorite bars in the world in July 2025. It's a practical, unpretentious option for anyone who wants a real night out in New York without alcohol being the organizing principle.
