Pink Flamingo opened in April 2025 at 300 W 30th Street in Remington, in the building that had been The Dizz — a beloved neighbourhood institution, which is a complicated inheritance. Co-owners Brendan Dorr and Eric Fooy, who also run the gin bar Dutch Courage, were direct about it: people were vocal about how much they loved The Dizz, Dorr told The Baltimore Banner, and they were not looking to open somebody else's business. What they opened instead is a rum-focused tropical tavern that keeps the neighbourhood-bar function intact — you can come in here and have pitchers of beer, as Dorr put it. Baltimore Magazine's review put the drinks programme plainly: rum is the star here. In January 2026 the bar was named a James Beard Award semifinalist for Best New Bar, and bar manager Nick Pikounis's reaction was the honest kind — shocked and honoured, and glad the struggle and stress had been worth it. The kitchen runs Spam chips and dip, crab dumplings, tempura green beans, pomegranate walnut wings, a half chicken and a short-rib burger.
The non-alcoholic side follows the tropical logic of the rest of the bar rather than importing a generic mocktail list: the house zero-proof drinks have included the Road Less Traveled, The Shallows, If The Shoe Fitz and a yuzu, Thai basil and limeade build. Tiki and tropical formats suit zero-proof drinking better than almost any other style, because the acid, spice and fruit are doing most of the work in the original anyway — a rum bar is a more promising place to order a non-alcoholic drink than a whiskey one. One practical caveat: Pink Flamingo publishes its menus as image-based PDFs that cannot be read by search engines or screen readers, so the current zero-proof list and its prices cannot be checked in advance. Dinner runs 4pm to 10pm daily with weekend brunch from 11am and happy hour weekdays from 4pm.
