1112 Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77007
PKL Social is a pickleball-driven sports bar, restaurant, and beer garden at 1112 Shepherd Drive, in the Washington Avenue Corridor on the edge of Houston's Heights neighborhood. It opened Thursday, March 21, 2024, next door to sister restaurant FM Kitchen & Bar (operating since 2017), under operating partner Jason Mok, with four pickleball courts, a covered dog-friendly patio, and 20-plus TVs.
On July 26, 2025, PKL Social officially absorbed FM Kitchen & Bar, retiring the FM Kitchen name and folding both spaces into a single brand, menu, and staff. The expansion added two Full Swing golf simulators next to the pickleball courts, two 140-inch LED video walls, and brought the property to 25-plus screens spread across an ice-house-style bar area, the court-side bar, and a large outdoor patio.
The bar's non-alcoholic options are real but modest for a venue this size: Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic craft beer is on the drink list alongside conventional beer, wine, and cocktails (including LALO tequila), and the non-alcoholic side of the menu also runs to a frozen strawberry lemonade, the house PKL Cherry Limeade, oat-milk lattes, craft mocktails, and prebiotic sodas. It is not a dedicated zero-proof cocktail program with a printed mocktail menu -- it's a standard sports-bar list with a handful of legitimate non-drinker options alongside frozen margaritas and bucket beers.
The restaurant and beer garden are open to all ages; the pickleball courts and golf-simulator bays are restricted to guests 21 and over.
