R House Wynwood

R House opened in Wynwood in 2012 under chef Rocco Carulli and co-owner Owen Bale, early enough to be counted among the neighbourhood's pioneer restaurants, and combines a Latin-inspired menu with an art gallery and drag entertainment. Its bottomless drag brunches are what it is known for nationally — it has appeared on The View and Good Morning America.

That context makes its zero-proof programme unusually significant. A bottomless brunch is, structurally, the most alcohol-dependent format in hospitality: the entire proposition is unlimited drinks for a fixed price, and a non-drinker attending is both paying for nothing and visibly outside the event. In September 2024 the restaurant rolled out a standing alcohol-free cocktail menu and, critically, bottomless zero-proof mimosa and mocktail brunch packages — aimed explicitly at sober, sober-curious, pregnant, under-21 and designated-driver guests.

That is a genuinely rare piece of design. It means a table of six can book the same experience at the same price with some of them not drinking, rather than one person opting out of the format entirely.

The drinks are built on real products: the No-Groni uses Bare Gin with Martini & Rossi Vibrante and Floreale; the Pathfinder Old Fashioned works Pathfinder Hemp & Root with brown sugar, aromatic bitters and orange peel; a Blanco Margarita uses Almave Blanco, and a Smoky Mango Margarita is built on Little Saints St. Ember. Four different alcohol-free base spirits across four drinks is a stocked bar rather than a token bottle.

It is a full-service restaurant and entertainment venue with a busy bar. The zero-proof offering is a parallel programme, and at brunch it is close to a parallel event. If you are attending a drag brunch as the designated driver, book the zero-proof package explicitly rather than assuming it can be arranged on the day.
