Shy Bird (Fenway)

Shy Bird Fenway is the third and largest of Andrew Holden's rotisserie restaurants, at 201 Brookline Avenue in the Fenway Center development between Kenmore Square and the ballpark. It runs a single continuous service from 8am to 10pm daily, with breakfast on weekdays, brunch from 8am at weekends, lunch through the afternoon and dinner from 4pm, which makes it one of the more flexible places in a neighborhood otherwise organised around game times. Holden previously ran Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square, a few hundred metres away, and the Globe's May 2025 review made the connection explicit while praising the drinks list.

The zero-proof section is the group standard, printed on the same page as the house cocktails: Cloud Nine at $10 with coconut, lime and club soda; Side Eye at $10 with hibiscus, orange and grapefruit; Strawberry Fields at $10 with strawberry, rhubarb, lime and ginger beer; the Tea-groni at $13 built on Gnista wormwood, a non-alcoholic aperitif and black tea; and the two Tilden drinks at $14, the Lacewing with cucumber, basil, lychee and juniper berry and the Tandem with American oak, lapsang, tart cherry and bitter orange. The Fenway menu goes a step further than its siblings by printing a 'Zero-Proof Sipping Spirits' block, offering Ghia Aperitif neat at $12 for its herbaceous bitterness and Gnista Wormwood at $13.50 for something bitter, aromatic and floral with citrus peel, which is a rare thing to find listed anywhere in Boston. Ghia Le Spritz and non-alcoholic Best Day Brewing in hazy IPA or electro lime lager round out the packaged options. The Globe's review also noted a hemp-infused Aplos sipper on the list at the time of writing. Holden also runs Branch Line in Watertown and previously managed Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square. The Kendall Square and South Boston branches pour the same six zero-proof cocktails, but the Fenway card is the one that prints the sipping-spirits block, which is worth knowing if a straight pour is what you want.
