Teardrop Lounge is a pioneering craft cocktail bar in Portland's Pearl District, at 1015 NW Everett Street. It was opened in 2007 by Daniel Shoemaker, who has owned and operated it since, and is widely credited with helping launch Portland's cocktail renaissance, building drinks from house-made and hard-to-find ingredients around a circular island bar. It has been recognized by Esquire, Food & Wine ("50 Best Bars in America"), Travel + Leisure, and North America's 50 Best Bars; Food & Wine called it "one of America's seminal bars."
Teardrop runs a dedicated, fully developed non-alcoholic menu rather than an afterthought list of mocktails. Named zero-proof drinks include Jacob's Ladder (The Pathfinder Hemp & Root, black pepper-caraway shrub, grapefruit, lemon bitters, club soda), Fisher King (Lyre's Dark Cane, house TDL Aperitif Rosso, white verjus, pineapple, lime), Pascal's Wager — a spirit-free take on the Negroni (house TDL "gin-ish," TDL Aperitif Rosso, red verjus) — and Press Club. The program leans on non-alcoholic spirits and aperitifs including The Pathfinder, Lyre's Dark Cane, and Drømme, alongside Teardrop's own house-made zero-proof bases; several N/A cocktails are noted as containing less than 0.5% ABV.
