Victoria Bar is a (mostly) vegan neighborhood restaurant and cocktail bar that opened in 2015 at 4835 N Albina Ave in Portland's Humboldt neighborhood. It was founded by bartender Lisa Victoria Hare in partnership with the Lightning Bar Collective (behind Bye and Bye, Jackknife and Sweet Hereafter), and is named for her middle name. The cocktail list is themed after the film The Princess Bride, with drinks such as Florin and Inigo Montoya, and the kitchen serves a largely vegan, gluten-free-friendly menu alongside two covered, dog-friendly patios.
Victoria was an early adopter of a dedicated non-alcoholic section and has been recognized by Portland Monthly as "an early pioneer of the spirit-free movement." Its zero-proof menu is built with the same care as the full bar and leans on Oregon and craft NA brands: the Beautiful Stranger pairs Wilderton Lustre with lemon, cucumber and ginger beer, while Crazy For You is a Moscow Mule riff with For Bitter For Worse aperitif. Other spirit-free options include Into the Groove, a Virgin Piña Colada, and Live To Tell, and the NA list is rounded out by Athletic non-alcoholic beer, kombucha and cold brew. Portland Monthly reports the NA program accounts for roughly 10 to 20 percent of the mixed drinks sold on a given night.
