Three Spirit

Salt Lake City's first all-non-alcoholic bottle shop and gourmet grocer, a woman-owned spot founded by Kate Riser that opened in May 2025 in the historic Artspace Rubber Company building on 200 South. Riser, who spent years in food and beverage across San Francisco, New York and nearly a decade in Europe, built it out with concrete floors, white walls and custom display cases. The shelves run deep on zero-proof spirits, wine, aperitifs, mixers and canned cocktails — roughly 300 products from about 50 mostly small, independent and minority-owned makers, including brands like The Pathfinder Hemp & Root and Aplós — alongside gourmet pantry goods. A small lounge lets visitors open an alcohol-free wine, sip a canned botanical cocktail and linger, making it a sober "third place" for the sober and sober-curious.

Cheeky & Dry is Seattle's first and only fully alcohol-free bottle shop, a 750-square-foot family-owned store at 6120 Phinney Ave N opened in November 2023 by Kirstin and Yura Vracko. Kirstin started it after her husband went to rehab for alcohol use and she stopped drinking in solidarity with him, looking for products that would carry her through the ritual of a drink at night — she has said she built the shop she wished existed. Its own rule is absolute: every bottle is 0.5% ABV or less. The catalogue runs to roughly 250 products across non-alcoholic spirits (gin, whiskey, agave, aperitivo), wines still and sparkling, beers, ready-to-drink cocktails, mixers and bitters, with brands including Pathfinder, Three Spirit, Little Saints, Parch, Aplos, Free Spirits, Leilo and Opius. There is a counter for tasting samples before you buy. NOTE FOR ANYONE AVOIDING ALL INTOXICANTS: we checked the full catalogue and found no THC at all, but it does stock kava products, one kava-and-kratom elixir, and one CBD coffee at 25mg per serving.

Dray is a 100% non-alcoholic bottle shop at 18 Union Park Street in Boston's South End, opened in late 2023 by founder Pat Dooling and reported at the time as the city's first dedicated alcohol-free retail store. Nothing in the shop contains meaningful alcohol: the range is built to mirror a conventional wine and spirits merchant, and Dray's own catalogue currently lists roughly 138 non-alcoholic beers, 83 non-alcoholic wines, 63 zero-proof spirits, 45 ready-to-drink cocktails and a further 19 mixers and accessories. Staff work as advisers rather than clerks, steering customers between categories, and the shop runs tastings and community events. It trades Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 8pm and is closed Mondays. A second Dray opened in Central Square, Cambridge.

Dray's second location is a 100% non-alcoholic bottle shop at 5 Columbia Street in Central Square, Cambridge, inside the Market Central complex, opened in January 2025 roughly a year after founder Pat Dooling's original South End store. It is styled like a high-end wine and spirits merchant, with the same catalogue behind it: roughly 138 non-alcoholic beers, 83 non-alcoholic wines, 63 zero-proof spirits, 45 ready-to-drink cocktails and 19 mixers and accessories, covering Seedlip, Lyre's, Ghia, Three Spirit, Kin Euphorics, Dr. Zero Zero and Martini among others. Nothing on the shelves contains meaningful alcohol. Staff advise by flavour and occasion rather than by brand, and the shop trades Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 8pm, closed Mondays.

Good News Bar is San Diego's first dedicated 100% alcohol-free bar, opened in Hillcrest in mid-July 2025 with an integrated non-alcoholic bottle shop. The concept was created by married former bartenders Kaylee and Crystal Clark, who left drinking behind in recovery; since August 2025 the bar has been operated by its majority owner, Ality Richardson. It is named after Mac Miller's song "Good News" and frames itself around raising awareness of addiction and mental health. The house line is coffee by day, cocktails by night, community always: mornings bring coffee, tea, functional cocktails and freshly baked pastries, while evenings run "functional" cocktails built around adaptogens, nootropics, nervines, kava and hemp-derived CBD alongside "free-spirited" builds that reimagine classics with non-alcoholic spirits, plus apéritifs, dealcoholized wines, NA beers and cider. Signature zero-proof drinks include The Merry Go Round, The Woods, Deborah Downer and Goosebumpz. Trivia, live music and DJ nights fill the calendar.

Kava Sol is an alcohol-free botanical bar in a rear unit on Erie Street in downtown Willoughby, about twenty miles east of downtown Cleveland, opened in June 2023 by Lindsay Cronk and Matthew Butler and billed as the first on the city's east side — the region's alcohol-free scene until then sat entirely west of the river. It pours kava by the shell, with $2 off daily from 3pm to 6pm and all day Saturday, alongside handcrafted mocktails built from house-made syrups, fresh juice and non-alcoholic spirits including Three Spirit and The Pathfinder. Kratom is also served. Butler's line on sourcing is the one that sticks: you would not buy sushi from a gas station. The room is small, deliberately tropical and event-driven, closing to the public early in the week to take private bookings instead.

Marigold is Minnesota's first dedicated non-alcoholic bottle shop, opened by hair stylist and Honeycomb Salon owner Erin Flavin in late 2022 on Nicollet Avenue in the Kingfield neighborhood of South Minneapolis. Born out of Flavin's own 2020 sobriety journey and conversations with salon clients, the shop is entirely alcohol-free, stocking NA spirits and aperitifs, de-alcoholized wine and sparkling teas, NA beer, bitters, mixers, ready-to-drink cocktails, adaptogenic and functional beverages, plus a THC/CBD section. The curated shelves carry brands including Three Spirit, Ghia, Kin Euphorics, Aplos, and Untitled Art N/A, alongside local THC and CBD producers. As of 2026 it is the Twin Cities' last standing NA bottle shop after the closure of its St. Paul outpost and a Northeast Minneapolis competitor — a status that makes it both a community anchor and, by the owner's own account, a week-by-week labor of love.

Mockingbird is Park Slope's first fully alcohol-free cocktail bar, serving thoughtfully crafted zero-proof cocktails alongside coffee, matcha, weekend brunch, and elevated bar bites at 213 7th Ave in Brooklyn.

Ocean Beach Cafe is an all-day cafe, fully alcohol-free bar and non-alcoholic bottle shop at 734 La Playa Street in the Outer Richmond, one block from Ocean Beach. It was opened by career bartender Joshua James, who bills it as San Francisco's first non-alcoholic bar, and it serves scratch-made food and Four Barrel coffee alongside craft zero-proof cocktails, chai and kava. The retail side stocks one of the largest selections of non-alcoholic beer, wine and spirits in the country. The cafe also runs Temperance Tastings, alcohol-free mixology classes, a private lounge called Temperance and a membership programme, Club AF. The San Francisco Standard has called it the granddaddy of the city's alcohol-free nightlife, and it is the anchor of non-alcoholic drinking in San Francisco.

Point 5 is Richmond's dedicated non-alcoholic bottle shop, on West Cary Street in Carytown, and as of 2026 it is the last one standing in the city — the Fan's Ceremony has closed its Richmond location and moved to Norfolk. Owner Jody Sidle stocks more than 100 brands across zero-proof spirits, non-alcoholic beer and wine, functional drinks, ready-to-drink mocktails and botanical elixirs, which makes it the one place in Richmond where the whole category sits on a shelf to be compared. It is a shop rather than a bar, but it runs tastings, education classes and community events for alcohol-free living, so it functions as the scene's meeting point too.

Rosette is a small worker-owned bar and restaurant at 9262 57th Avenue S in Rainier Beach, opened in 2025 by members of the collective behind Jude's Old Town, Seattle's first worker-owned bar and restaurant, two doors down. It focuses on non-alcoholic cocktails, natural and biodynamic wine and small bites, and the room is petite — a rectangular space just under eleven feet wide. Worker-owner Mark Paschal's reason for building it is the clearest statement of the case we have found: for too long, people who don't drink alcohol have been treated as an afterthought in bar spaces, and at Rosette thoughtfully constructed non-alcoholic cocktails are meant to shine and offer a true bar experience without alcohol. The N/A Cocktails list is flat $15: In Bloom (Figlia Fiore, Lumette Bright Light, lemon, rose blossom, Woody's non-alcoholic sparkling), Minimal Intervention (DHOS vodka, lemon, strawberry-mint), Refined Prop Comic (Lumette LumRum, Ghia, lemon, orange-carrot) and Spirited Away (Free Spirits bourbon, Pathfinder, vermouth, bitters). PLEASE NOTE: a fifth, Pine for the Days, contains KAVA — a mildly sedative plant — under the same non-alcoholic heading. Happy hour 3–6pm; open Wednesday to Saturday.
