The Rendition Room is a speakeasy hidden in the basement of Vitello's, the Italian restaurant that has served Studio City from 4349 Tujunga Avenue since 1964. Entry is through a door disguised as a bookshelf, and the room commits fully to its conceit: the bar describes stepping through into the 1930s, a time of elegance and secrecy, and holds an intimate, low-lit space of red light and a brick faux fireplace. The dress code is enforced rather than suggested — business casual or cocktail attire is required, and jeans, ball caps, shorts, T-shirts, sandals and athletic wear are not permitted at any time. Guests are encouraged to arrive in period-appropriate 1920s or 1930s dress, and the bar makes that worth doing: a 5% non-member surcharge applies to guests who are not members of Club Rendition, and it is waived for anyone who turns up in era-appropriate costume. Food comes down from Vitello's kitchen, including a blackened swordfish piccata, a short-rib and beef Prohibition burger and twin filet medallions with peppercorn sauce. The room is cashless and takes reservations through SevenRooms.
The non-alcoholic list is headed "Spirits Away" and priced flat at $12 for all six drinks. What distinguishes it from most speakeasy zero-proof lists is that nothing is built on a bought-in non-alcoholic spirit — these are fresh-juice and scratch-sour drinks, made the way the bar makes everything else. Nectar of the Gods combines watermelon and cucumber with scratch sour, lemon and seltzer. Eve on Earth pairs white cranberry with grapefruit seltzer and scratch sour. Pearadisio is scratch sour with pear and seltzer, Cloud 9 blends pineapple, lemon, coconut and mango, and the list is completed by a Fauxjito of lime, mint and seltzer and a Spa Water of cucumber, mint and lime seltzer. Manager Shelton told Resy in January 2026 that the bar had recently extended its non-alcoholic offering upstairs to its Rat Pack-themed lounge, The Velvet Martini, because of demand: we want all kinds of people to feel welcome and enjoy the speakeasy experience, even if they don't imbibe, she said, noting it is often younger guests who order them. Service runs from 5pm, to 9pm Sunday and Tuesday to Thursday and 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
