Tanqueray 0.0% is Diageo's alcohol-free version of Tanqueray London Dry Gin, launched on 22 February 2021 and rolled out that March through UK and Spanish retailers including Waitrose, Morrisons and Sainsbury's at an RRP of £16. Tanqueray master distiller Terry Fraser said the brand's "expert innovation team has combined years of expertise and historic Gin distilling knowledge to create a credible alcohol-free experience," positioning the launch inside a no/low-alcohol category Diageo projected would drive roughly 23% of total adult drinks growth over the following three years.

It is built from the same four core Tanqueray botanicals — piney juniper, peppery coriander, aromatic angelica and sweet liquorice — individually steam-distilled and then blended, rather than made by stripping alcohol out of a fermented base. Like standard-strength Tanqueray, it is produced at Diageo's Cameronbridge Distillery in Fife, Scotland, which has been the gin's production home since the brand's former Laindon distillery in Essex closed in 1998 — despite the "London Dry" name and Tanqueray's 1830 founding in Bloomsbury, London. It bottles at 0.0% ABV, with around 6 kcal per 50ml serving and no sugar, in the same 70cl (700ml) bottle format as the alcoholic original.

The range expanded in April 2023 with Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla 0.0%, a citrus variant built around Sevilla orange and orange blossom alongside Tanqueray London Dry's core botanicals. At The Spirits Business' Low & No Masters 2026 blind-tasting competition, Tanqueray 0.0% took a Master medal in the Non-Alcoholic White Spirit (less than 0.5% ABV) category and was also awarded the event's overall Low & No Taste Master 2026 title, with judges praising how closely it resembled actual gin.

Recognition: Master medal in the Non-Alcoholic White Spirit (less than 0.5% ABV) category, plus the overall "The Low & No Taste Master 2026" title — The Spirits Business' Low & No Masters 2026

Bright lime and hints of citric acid on the nose with underlying herbaceous notes. It opens up on the palate with nice notes of juniper and herbs, and length on the finish. It stands up very well to mixing, with the juniper still shining through.

Cocktail Bar

Atlas Bar is a long-running gin specialist tucked into a Victorian railway arch on Deansgate, run since 2012 by Mark and Elaine Wrigley and now stocking more than 570 gins. Unusually for a gin saloon, it backs that up with a genuine low-and-no range starting from around £3.50: non-alcoholic gins including Seedlip, Tanqueray 0.0, Gordon's 0.0, Everleaf and Tuscan Tree, poured as bespoke alcohol-free 'gin' and tonics, a 'Nogroni' and an alcohol-free version of its gin paddle board flight. There are also 0% Prosecco and cider, Seedlip mocktails, Heineken 0.0 and Frobishers juices with premium Double Dutch mixers. Co-owner Elaine Wrigley has actively pushed the category as big-name gin brands have released their own zero-proof bottlings.

Hawksmoor Manchester is the acclaimed British steak-and-seafood group's Deansgate restaurant, set in a landmark former bank a short walk from Spinningfields. Alongside its charcoal-grilled, dry-aged native-breed beef and grand banking-hall dining room, it keeps a genuine, named alcohol-free cocktail list — the 'Lo & No Alc' section, part of the group's wider 'Temperates' philosophy of what to drink when you're not drinking. Zero-proof builds run from Steady Pete's Ginger Brew (Tanqueray 0.0 and Lucky Saint IPA) and a Non-Alc Cherry Negroni with Lyre's Amaretti to the Afterburner, made with Botivo and Almave non-alcoholic agave spirit. Homemade sodas and a grown-up Shirley Temple riff round out a list built with the same care as the full bar.
