8 Spadina Avenue, #3800, Toronto, ON M5V 2H6
Aera is a steakhouse and sushi restaurant from Toronto's Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality group, occupying the 38th floor of The Well — the mixed-use tower at 8 Spadina Avenue that anchors the King West district. The restaurant opened in 2026 and pairs a dining room and bar with Open Aera, a rooftop patio 38 floors above the city; daily happy hour runs 4-6pm, and Friday and Saturday nights bring bottle service with DJs from 9pm. Open Aera and the bar are 19+ on Thursday through Saturday from 5pm and on Sundays of long weekends, while the main dining room remains open to all ages.
The bar treats non-alcoholic drinking as a proper, named section of the menu rather than an afterthought: a dedicated "Spirit-Free" list runs alongside the Signature, Classic and seasonal Feature cocktails, each drink built with a full ingredient line rather than a generic "mocktail" label. The Cipriani Bellini ($12) pairs Oddbird non-alcoholic blanc de blancs with peach nectar; the Petit Hugo ($12) is elderflower cordial, fresh mint and soda water over a 0% blanc de blanc sparkling wine; and the Blackberry Mojito ($12) combines a non-alcoholic rum with blackberry, fresh mint and soda water. A rotating feature, The Reset ($12), adds ginger, lemon, pomegranate, ginger beer, soda and a ginger candy garnish.
The program has drawn outside notice: Oliver & Bonacini's own "Booze-Free Cocktails" editorial singles out the Cipriani Bellini by name among its alcohol-free pours, and Executive Chef Binit Pandey has spoken to blogTO about the kitchen's unhurried pace suiting a room built around its views — "We take time to prepare food and the guest has the time to wait for it, to enjoy the view."
