Chef-partner Drake Leonards, a Louisiana native who trained in New Orleans, at Manhattan's Michelin-starred Café Boulud, and for two years in Germany's Black Forest, opened Eunice in 2018 at 3737 Buffalo Speedway in Houston's Greenway Plaza — BRG Hospitality's first Houston restaurant, named after Leonards' hometown of Eunice, Louisiana. The modern Cajun-Creole brasserie and raw bar earned a Best New Restaurant nomination, a three-star review from Houston Chronicle critic Alison Cook, and a StarChefs Rising Star Chef honor for Leonards.
On the standing menu, Eunice runs a dedicated "Mocktails" section with two named, priced non-alcoholic drinks: the Strawberry Fizz (strawberry, lemon, Topo Chico) and the Prickly Pear Ade (prickly pear, lemon, lime, Topo Chico), each $8. The list rotates with the seasons — for Dry January 2025, Bayou Beat News reported Eunice serving the Cobbler's Cruise (Cut Above 0% proof gin, strawberry, orgeat) and the Undercover Chili (Cut Above 0% proof tequila, jalapeño, pineapple). Across rotations the restaurant has kept named, priced, alcohol-free options in circulation rather than treating it as a one-off gesture, even though the venue itself serves a full raw bar and cocktail program and is not alcohol-free.
The restaurant sits at the corner of Buffalo Speedway and Richmond Avenue on the edge of Upper Kirby. It's open daily for lunch and dinner and remains an active, frequently reviewed spot in 2026.
