95 Tuam St, Suite 102, Houston, TX 77006
Jethro's Cocktail Lounge opened April 30, 2024 in a roughly 2,200-square-foot space at 95 Tuam St, on the Montrose side of the Montrose/Midtown line. It's the project of hospitality partners Russell Malixi (a Houston native and University of Texas alumnus), Wade McElroy (a fellow Texan and UT alumnus), and Andrew Corbett (a California native); the trio also run Ma'am Sir LA, Horse Thief BBQ, and the newly opened Arroyo Club in Los Angeles. "Texas was calling me home, and Montrose seemed like the perfect place to launch Jethro's," Malixi told Houston Food Finder at opening. "The welcoming vibe reminded me a little of LA, but the bustling nightlife scene and neighborhood feel is really what sealed the deal."
The lounge pairs dark woods, geometric shapes, and sleek black booths with contemporary decor, plus a walk-up bar and an airy patio. The compact menu runs about ten signature cocktails alongside a handful of house classics and a short beer and wine-by-the-glass list, paired with a smashburger, a plant-based burger, and fries.
Alongside the full bar, Jethro's runs a small but genuine zero-proof program built on real non-alcoholic spirits: four named house mocktails priced at $10, including the Watermelon Fresca (Cut Above zero-proof agave, watermelon, lime), the Botanical Crown (Empress 1908 0.0, honey, Topo Chico), the Peach Blossom (peach purée, lemon), and 9 Out of 10 (strawberry purée, orgeat, lime).
