Life on Mars opened in June 2019 at Pike and Harvard on Capitol Hill, from a group with deep roots in Seattle music: KEXP's John Richards, Amy Lindsey Richards, Leigh Sims, and Steven Severin, a co-owner of Neumos. The room is built around a 6,000-record vinyl wall, with a covered patio outside and an entirely plant-based kitchen doing burgers and cauliflower wings. Brunch runs from 11am at weekends, dinner from 4pm daily, and it is 21-and-over inside and out. One small detail says a lot about how the bar thinks: every cocktail on the menu is credited to the bartender who created it and the year they did, so you can see that Kraig Rovensky has been writing drinks here since 2019 and that Anna Eisch and Mike Albert added new ones in 2026.

The non-alcoholic programme dates precisely to January 2022, when the bar reopened on the 15th with nine zero-proof cocktails for Dry January, and it has stayed. The section is headed N/A and Low ABV Cocktails, and that second half is not decoration — this is the rare bar that tells you exactly how much alcohol is in a drink that most places would simply call a mocktail. Pathfinder Spritz is 0.03% at $14 and is the oldest drink on the entire cocktail list, a 2019 original that has outlasted everything around it. High Violet at $15 layers Pathfinder Hemp & Root with Almave Ambar, non-alcoholic bitters and a blueberry coffee syrup. Mesmerize at $13 infuses Pathfinder with black pepper against a lemon lapsang oleo. Pay Day at $15 is a jungle bird that will not knock you down. Two things to know. The canned Pathfinder Negroni is 0.5%, and Two of Hearts is printed at 0.12 to 2.98% ABV, which is genuinely low-alcohol rather than alcohol-free — the menu says so plainly and so do we. And Pathfinder itself, despite the "Hemp & Root" name, is distilled from hempseed and the maker states it contains no CBD or THC.
