The Marigold Club sits on Kuester Street in Montrose, part of the Goodnight Hospitality group, and it is listed in the Michelin Guide. The conceit is a British members' club — dark rooms, a martini programme, a proper dinner menu — and it is played straight rather than as pastiche.
The alcohol-free drinks are built on Seedlip, and the more interesting of the two is the Secret Garden, which is essentially Seedlip Garden 108 served with an olive. Garden 108 is the herbaceous expression of the range, built on pea, hay, spearmint, rosemary and thyme, and it is deliberately vegetal rather than sweet. Put an olive in it and what you have is a savoury drink in a stemmed glass — a martini's structural cousin, brine and botanicals and nothing sugary anywhere near it. That is a genuinely rare thing. The overwhelming majority of non-alcoholic drinks anywhere are built on fruit and sugar, which means the person who orders a dry martini has almost nowhere to go when they stop drinking. This is one of the few answers to that in Houston.
The Chelsea Bloom is the more conventional counterpart, using Seedlip Grove 42 — the citrus expression, built on blood orange, ginger and lemongrass — against cranberry and lime. It is tart rather than sweet, and it does the job the club soda-and-lime would otherwise do, but with a bitter, aromatic backbone.
Houston Press named both drinks in its Dry January 2026 guide. Seedlip sits at the premium end of the non-alcoholic spirits market in this city, and the bars that reach for it — this one, and a handful of others — are generally the ones taking the category most seriously.
On timing: the club is closed Mondays, opens for dinner only from Tuesday to Thursday, and adds a late-morning to mid-afternoon service on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, running to eleven at the weekend. It is a booking rather than a walk-in, and it is the sort of room where an evening is built around sitting at a table for three hours — which is, on the whole, the format that works best when you are not drinking.
