Miku Toronto occupies a large, contemporary space inside WaterPark Place on Bay Street, at the edge of the city's Harbourfront near Queen's Quay in the Southern Financial District. The restaurant spans more than 7,000 square feet and is built around a raw bar, a dedicated sushi bar, and a large patio, matching its billing as "Toronto's First & Finest Home of Aburi Sushi."

It opened in 2015 as the first East Coast location for ABURI Restaurants, the Japanese hospitality group that developed its flame-seared aburi sushi technique in Japan before expanding to Vancouver and then Toronto. The kitchen pairs that searing technique with contemporary Japanese cooking across several formats — an omakase-style sushi bar, seasonal tasting menus, and kaiseki-style multi-course dining — under the restaurant's "Ningenmi" philosophy of finding joy in life by bringing joy to others.

Alongside its wine, sake, and cocktail program, Miku runs a genuine zero-proof section rather than a token mocktail or two. Foodism.ca, surveying Toronto's best non-alcoholic drink menus, singled out Miku for carrying "a substantial section of zero-proof drinks," including non-alcoholic wine from Oddbird and non-alcoholic beer from Asahi and Bellwoods alongside named mocktails. The standout, per Foodism, is the Tōji Fizz — yuzu, elderflower, and lavender — a drink the outlet described as "a floral lemonade."

They also have a substantial section of zero-proof drinks. Find non-alcoholic wine (Oddbird), non-alcoholic beer (Asahi and Bellwoods) and mocktails on the list. My favourite drink on the menu is the Tōji Fizz, a yuzu, elderflower and lavender concoction that drinks like a floral lemonade.
