The Ocean Beach Monday Morning opened on 2 January 2026 at 4967 Newport Avenue, inside the OB Business Center — deliberately timed to the one-year anniversary of the Pacific Beach original. It is the second fully alcohol-free bottle shop and tasting bar from founder Zane Curtis, who started the business after getting sober and finding San Diego had nowhere to buy good non-alcoholic drinks, and whose own account of it runs: "I joke that my drinking problem materialized into sobriety for San Diego." Newport Avenue is Ocean Beach's main strip and one of the more determinedly countercultural streets in the county, which makes it a natural second home for a shop like this.
The stock mirrors the original: north of 500 zero-proof products across more than fifty brands, spanning non-alcoholic beer, dealcoholized wine, spirit alternatives, ready-to-drink cocktails and functional drinks built on adaptogens and nootropics, with Athletic, Bravus, Partake, Seedlip and Ritual all represented. A tasting bar lets customers try before buying, which matters more in this category than almost any other — non-alcoholic spirits and dealcoholized wines differ enormously between brands, and a single bad bottle at $30 is enough to convince somebody the whole category is not for them. The Ocean Beach space is noticeably more compact than Pacific Beach, and the team works around it by opening the windows and serving out toward the boardwalk, which suits a beach neighbourhood where most of the day happens outdoors. One practical note worth checking before you travel: this location currently keeps weekday-only hours, Monday to Friday, and is closed at the weekend — the reverse of what a beach-adjacent shop would normally do, and the opposite of the Pacific Beach store's schedule. For a first visit, the tasting bar is the whole reason to come in person rather than order online: an hour there will tell you more about which non-alcoholic spirits and dealcoholised wines are worth your money than any amount of reading, and the staff have tasted everything on the shelves.
