SURENITEA occupies a plant-filled room in Wynwood and styles itself an oasis of calm, with the tagline meditation in a cup — a deliberate contrast with the arts district around it, which is among the loudest nightlife strips in Miami. The menu is botanical rather than alcoholic throughout: ceremonial-grade kava including Vanuatu and Tongan varieties, kratom drinks, functional-mushroom builds, nootropic elixirs, brewed teas and fruit-forward mocktails, with vegan food alongside.
Two things distinguish it from the other kava rooms in the neighbourhood. The first is that its ingredients are COA-tested — certificates of analysis, meaning independent lab verification of what is actually in the product. In a category that is largely unregulated in the United States, that is a meaningful and uncommon commitment. The second is how the staff are trained to sell: guests are guided by desired effect rather than by flavour, choosing between relaxation, energy or recovery. That framing treats the drinks as functional rather than decorative, which is at least honest about what people are buying.
It holds a 4.9-star rating across roughly a hundred reviewers and is consistently named among Wynwood's notable kava and wellness bars. It works as a daytime workspace as readily as a late-night room, staying open late at weekends.
The caveat that belongs on every kava listing applies here and should not be softened: kava is psychoactive and sedating, with documented case reports of liver injury, and kratom acts on opioid receptors and carries real dependence and withdrawal risk. Everything served is free of alcohol. That is a narrower claim than nothing served having an effect, and for anyone whose reason for avoiding alcohol is recovery from a substance-use disorder, the difference is the whole question. For a first visit, tell the staff what you want the evening to do rather than what you want to drink — the menu is organised around effect, and that is how it is meant to be read.
The standard kava-bar caution applies. Kava is psychoactive rather than merely herbal — a mild sedative and anxiolytic — and it should not be mixed with alcohol or with sedating prescriptions. Where kratom is on the menu it is a distinct substance carrying a distinct and more contested risk profile, dependence included. That matters most to exactly the people an alcohol-free room serves best, so ask what is in a drink rather than assuming, and speak to a clinician if you are on medication.
