Taj A Sweet Cafe opened on Westheimer Road in September 2025, and the reason it belongs on this list is the clock. It trades from seven in the morning until midnight, seven nights a week, with no shorter weeknight hours — the most consistent late closing of any alcohol-free venue in Houston. Most places that stay open past eleven do it only on Fridays and Saturdays. This one does it on a Tuesday.

It is worth being accurate about the category. This is a Levantine and Turkish sweets house rather than a Yemeni coffeehouse, and it should not be confused with the Yemeni rooms elsewhere in the city even though it shares their hours and their alcohol-free character. What it does share is the Adani tea — the spiced Yemeni black tea — offered both as a $5.95 cup and as a $21 pot brewed for a table to share. The pot is the tell: this is a room that expects groups to sit for a long time, and it prices for it.

Around the tea sits Turkish coffee prepared traditionally, a pistachio latte, a Spanish latte, and a house soothing tea. The dessert-led drinks are the other half of the business and are made without apology — the Biscoff Cloud and the Tiramisu Dream are closer to a dessert course than to a beverage, and the Taj Avocado sits in the same territory. That matters for the alcohol-free crowd more than it might seem: the thing most often missing from an evening without drinking is the final course that gives the night a shape, and a sweets house open until midnight supplies exactly that.

The published menu is unusually complete for verification purposes — hot drinks, cold drinks, oriental sweets, Turkish plates, savoury items, cakes, crepes and chocolates — and there is no alcoholic item anywhere in it. The Texas licence register holds no permit under the trade name. The evidence is therefore about as strong as it gets short of the venue saying the words itself, and it is recorded here as evidence rather than as a venue claim.
