The Slow House (Maison Garden)

Maison Garden opened in mid-2025 as one of Singapore's first floral lifestyle sanctuaries, tucked into the perennially busy Dempsey Hill enclave as an extension of homegrown floral studio The Florte, itself inspired by the flower markets of Covent Garden in London. The space brings together three distinct experiences under one roof: The Slow House, an all-day cafe; The Conservatory, a climate-controlled glass-house flower market where visitors hand-pick from more than twenty seasonal blooms displayed market-style; and The Canvas, a private event room for intimate dinners, brand activations and workshops.

The Slow House is the drinking-and-brunch heart of the venue, and by day its beverage program is built for zero-proof sipping. The anchor is a botanical matcha flight - three cups for S$12.90 - served alongside garden sodas, floral-infused brews, house smoothies, specialty coffee and teas. Because the room only turns to champagne and cocktails in the evening, the daytime menu that most guests come for is effectively alcohol-free, poured in a light-filled setting surrounded by fresh flowers with both indoor and alfresco seating.

The atmosphere leans toward relaxed luxury - warm lighting, soft natural textures and abundant greenery - and the venue is pet-friendly with free parking across the Dempsey estate. A signature quirk is the flower bar buffet, where for S$25++ guests can fill a vase with as many fresh stems as they like, blurring the line between cafe visit and florist run.

The Slow House does not hold a Michelin or Asia's 50 Best accolade; its draw is the novel florist-market-meets-cafe format and a genuinely botanical, largely non-alcoholic daytime menu rather than a formal named zero-proof cocktail list.
