Hawksmoor Manchester is the acclaimed British steak-and-seafood group's Deansgate restaurant, set in a landmark former bank a short walk from Spinningfields. Alongside its charcoal-grilled, dry-aged native-breed beef and grand banking-hall dining room, it keeps a genuine, named alcohol-free cocktail list — the 'Lo & No Alc' section, part of the group's wider 'Temperates' philosophy of what to drink when you're not drinking. Zero-proof builds run from Steady Pete's Ginger Brew (Tanqueray 0.0 and Lucky Saint IPA) and a Non-Alc Cherry Negroni with Lyre's Amaretti to the Afterburner, made with Botivo and Almave non-alcoholic agave spirit. Homemade sodas and a grown-up Shirley Temple riff round out a list built with the same care as the full bar.

Seed Library is the Shoreditch cocktail bar from Ryan Chetiyawardana, the bartender better known as Mr Lyan, who reshaped London drinking in 2013 with White Lyan — the first bar to work with no perishables, no ice and no branded spirits. His later rooms, Dandelyan (named the world's best bar in 2018) and its South Bank successor Lyaness, have been fixtures of the World's 50 Best list. Opened in the basement of the One Hundred Shoreditch hotel at 100 Shoreditch High Street, Seed Library is pitched as his neighbourhood bar: less theatrical than the flagship, built around what the team call stripped-back analogue forms and a maker's touch — minimal fuss, maximum flavour, drawn from unexpected ingredients. It is a low-lit room with a pared-back, produce-led list. Its "Pathways" menu carries four dedicated non-alcoholic serves, and roughly half the full cocktail list can be rebuilt booze-free; named low- and no-alcohol drinks include the Hand-Rolled Spritz and Master Stock Plus.

Swift opened on Old Compton Street in November 2016, taking over the site of the long-running Soho drinking den Lab. It is the work of Bobby Hiddleston and Mia Johansson — a bartending couple who met while working at the celebrated, now-shuttered Milk & Honey — in partnership with Edmund Weil and Rosie Stimpson, the team behind Nightjar and Oriole. The name is a promise: an upstairs bar built for a quick, well-made drink before dinner or the theatre, with no booking required, and a dark cocktail den below for settling in. It has since grown into a small group with further bars in Shoreditch and Borough, and is a near-permanent fixture on the World's 50 Best Bars list. The walk-in upstairs room carries a dedicated non-alcoholic list alongside its aperitivo menu, and the sibling Swift Borough pours a named low/no serve, the Atopia, with spiced citrus, Botivo, strawberry and pink peppercorn.

The Lucky Saint is the alcohol-free beer brand's first permanent pub, on Devonshire Street in Marylebone — a restored Victorian pub built around the alcohol-free pint rather than treating it as an afterthought. It serves a full bar of spirits, wine and cask beer as well, so this is a mixed room rather than a dry one, but the depth of the no-and-low list is the reason to come: around fifteen per cent of drinks sold here are alcohol-free. It pours the brand's own unfiltered 0.5% lager and a newer IPA alongside a rotating range of low- and no-alcohol beers, ciders and cans, Italian aperitivo bitters such as Crodino, and a short list of alcohol-free cocktails, with a full food menu. It is one of the clearest signs of London's shift: a busy, all-day pub where ordering a zero-proof pint is the unremarkable choice.

Reserve Wines is an independent Manchester wine merchant whose Altrincham outpost sits inside the Market House at the town's celebrated food hall, pouring by the glass and selling by the bottle to drink in or take away. Founded in 2003 by drinks expert Kate Goodman, it carries a genuinely curated low- and no-alcohol range alongside its 200-plus wines. The alcohol-free shelf spans zero-proof red, white, sparkling and rosé plus artisan spirits from Lyre's, Three Spirit, Almave and Botivo, with De Bortoli's 'The Very Cautious One' and Vallformosa's Catalan 0% sparkling anchoring the wine end of the shelf, so the sober drinker gets the same considered treatment as everyone else at the bar.
