Big Bar is the craft-cocktail counterpart to the Alcove Cafe & Bakery in Los Feliz, a small, candle-lit neighborhood bar that has run one of the city's most creative and playful drink programs since 2004. Alongside its spirited list it keeps a genuine zero-proof menu: Los Angeles press has counted four to six rotating non-alcoholic cocktails on the seasonal menu, championed by a lead bartender who is sober herself. Named spirit-free drinks have included the Supernova (a riff on a Bossa Nova built on Lyre's Aperitif Dry with Turkish apricot, cardamom, lemon and Italian parsley), Tropic Thunder (Seedlip Grove, pineapple, lime, ginger, mint), the Apothecary (Three Spirits Livener, lemon, serrano chili, tonic, charred rosemary) and Pocket Full of Horses, an NA Old Fashioned-style drink. The bar is also Zero Proof Certified for its non-alcoholic offerings.

“The bar team whips up housemade syrups, oft-rotating concoctions and one of the most cheeky, fun-loving menus in L.A. Puns, drink accessories and non-alcoholic cocktails abound, but don't think they can't do classics; the martinis, margs and spritzes here are some of the best in town.”— Time Out Los AngelesTime Out Los Angeles →
