Earls Kitchen + Bar — Legacy West

Earls is a Canadian group that has built a small Texas presence, and its Legacy West room is a large, late-opening restaurant-bar in Plano's most walkable shopping district — the sort of place a group ends up after work. Its drink menu splits alcohol-free options across two printed sections, Zero Proof for mixed drinks and Non-Alcoholic for beer and soft drinks, which between them make it one of the more dependable suburban options in this guide.

Two of the six zero-proof builds are made with Seedlip. The Picante Margarita is the most complete drink on the list, combining Seedlip Notas de Agave — the range's tequila-facing expression — with Seedlip Spice, smoky pepper and lime, and it is priced accordingly. The Coconut Mango Cooler runs Seedlip Spice into coconut, mango, basil and lime. The remaining four are simpler and cheaper: an Italian Spritz, a Strawberry Hibiscus Mule, a strawberry Arnold Palmer and a rotating sparkling lemonade, which gives a table a range of price points rather than one expensive option.

The non-alcoholic beer list is better than most suburban restaurants bother with, carrying Guinness 0 and Athletic Brewing's Run Wild IPA alongside Michelob Ultra Zero. With a kitchen open to midnight most nights and 1am at weekends, it covers the late slot that Plano otherwise leaves to full bars.
