Midnight Morning

Midnight Morning is an all-day neighborhood cafe and restaurant in Roslindale Village, opened August 10, 2023, by owner Virginia Schubert in the former Birch Street Bistro space at 14 Birch St. The woman-owned, independent spot bills itself as "open daily from coffee to cocktails," moving from morning specialty coffee, house-made brioche donuts, and pastries through brunch and into a seasonal, made-from-scratch dinner menu. The bar program pairs creative house cocktails, natural and orange wines, and New England beers with several zero-proof offerings, anchored by a roughly $12 mocktail selection. Its signature non-alcoholic drink, the "Regret Nothing," is built on Ritual Zero Proof NA tequila with jalapeno and lime. The Boston Globe singled it out in a January 2025 roundup of spots for mocktails, describing it as a "cheery Roslindale bistro" known for comfort food like sausage dip, mushroom-and-cream-cheese wontons, burgers, and fried pickles. The kitchen has been led by Executive Chef Rory Lee, and the venue serves as a daytime cafe, brunch destination, and evening restaurant all in one Roslindale Village storefront.
