Cheeky & Dry is Seattle's first and only fully alcohol-free bottle shop, a 750-square-foot family-owned store at 6120 Phinney Ave N opened in November 2023 by Kirstin and Yura Vracko. Kirstin started it after her husband went to rehab for alcohol use and she stopped drinking in solidarity with him, looking for products that would carry her through the ritual of a drink at night — she has said she built the shop she wished existed. Its own rule is absolute: every bottle is 0.5% ABV or less. The catalogue runs to roughly 250 products across non-alcoholic spirits (gin, whiskey, agave, aperitivo), wines still and sparkling, beers, ready-to-drink cocktails, mixers and bitters, with brands including Pathfinder, Three Spirit, Little Saints, Parch, Aplos, Free Spirits, Leilo and Opius. There is a counter for tasting samples before you buy. NOTE FOR ANYONE AVOIDING ALL INTOXICANTS: we checked the full catalogue and found no THC at all, but it does stock kava products, one kava-and-kratom elixir, and one CBD coffee at 25mg per serving.

Spirited Away was America's first booze-free bottle shop and it is still the most complete one in New York, now on Eighth Avenue in Chelsea after starting life on Mott Street. Nothing on the shelves contains meaningful alcohol. The buy runs past 100 brands — Seedlip and Ritual Zero Proof alongside Ghia and The Pathfinder, Copenhagen Sparkling Tea, Unified Ferments, non-alcoholic wines from Sovi and Prima Pave, plus beers, bitters, shrubs, amari, mixers and ready-to-drink cocktails. It opens noon to 8pm every day of the week and delivers across Manhattan, free over $100. The shop is not just retail: it runs in-store tastings and events, which for a lot of people is the low-pressure way into the category.

Wallace Dry Goods is Ardmore's first fully non-alcoholic bottle shop, opened in early 2024 by owner Robin Cummiskey on the Main Line at 1 West Lancaster Avenue. Styled like a traditional bottle shop — shelves of "whiskey," wine, gin, and mixers — it stocks zero liquor; everything is alcohol-free. The shop sells NA spirits, beer, wine, cider, mixers, bitters, syrups, and ready-to-drink cans, plus barware, so non-drinkers have the same tools to build cocktails at home. Brands carried include Ghia, Ritual Zero Proof, Cut Above, Seedlip, Lyre's, Athletic Brewing, Abstinence, and Mingle Mocktails. A daily in-store tasting bar pours rotating samples and the occasional craft mocktail, and the shop hosts classes and events. Wallace Dry Goods was named Best Non-Alcoholic Bottle Shop in Philadelphia Magazine's 2024 Best of Philly awards.

Bar Iris is a Japanese-influenced craft cocktail bar at 2310 Polk Street in Russian Hill / Polk Gulch, opened in early 2022 as the sibling to chef David Yoshimura's Michelin-starred restaurant Nisei next door. The program leans on Japanese spirits and long, seasonal ingredient lists, and its non-alcoholic offering is unusually deep: the bar keeps a standalone alcohol-free menu that currently runs nine N/A cocktails named for Japanese places, from the Kyoto — a non-alcoholic martini of Amass and Dhōs N/A spirits with Aplos Arise, narazuke brine and tsukemono — to the Yakushima (Okinawa purple yam, Wilderton Earthen, kalamansi, li hin mui), alongside a bottle list of dealcoholized sake, sparkling wine and riesling. Several cocktails on the main list are also marked as available non-alcoholic, and The San Francisco Standard has reported that more than half its cocktails can be made without alcohol.

Con Alma is a live-jazz supper club at 613 Penn Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District, serving a Latin-inspired menu alongside a genuine zero-proof programme. It began on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside in 2019 and opened Downtown in 2021; the Shadyside original has since closed, so this is now the only location — worth knowing, because much of the press about Con Alma describes the other room. Esquire named it one of the 27 best bars in America in 2021. It is owned by executive chef Josh Ross, music curator John Shannon and beverage director Aimee Marshall. The non-alcoholic section carries two built cocktails — an N/A Painkiller with coconut cream, orange, pineapple and nutmeg, and an N/A Mojito ($10) — plus Eins-Zwei-Zero 0% sparkling Riesling ($12), a Bravas non-alcoholic golden ale ($6) and a rotating NA beer. Unusually, it also sells zero-proof spirits by the pour at $8–$9: Free Spirits gin, bourbon and tequila, Dr Zero Zero AmarNo and Pentire Coastal Spritz. Budget for a per-person music charge during live sets ($10 Thursday and Sunday, $15 Friday and Saturday, $5 in the bar).

Death & Co Denver is the second outpost of the New York cocktail bar, opened in 2018 inside The Ramble Hotel in Denver's River North Art District. Founders David Kaplan, Alex Day and Ravi DeRossi opened the original Death & Co in a windowless Manhattan room in 2007, where it helped lead the modern craft cocktail movement. The Denver location is a multi-bar complex within the boutique hotel: the marquee lobby bar with 1930s decor and plush velvet seating, the DC/AM coffee and brunch bar serving 7am to 3pm daily, the seasonal outdoor Garden, and Suite 6A, a mezzanine lounge overlooking the lobby bar. The bar keeps a standing Zero Proof section on its Denver menu, currently the Vibe Shift, Porch Swing, Business Casual and Cap Gun, alongside non-alcoholic wine and beer. Opening bar manager Alex Jump, since departed to open The Peach Crease Club, is widely credited as a founding figure of Denver's modern non-alcoholic bar scene.

Death & Co Los Angeles is the first West Coast location of the cocktail brand founded in New York's East Village on New Year's Eve 2006, and it opened in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles at the end of 2019 from the Death & Co team of David Kaplan, Alex Day and Devon Tarby with Ravi DeRossi — the same group behind the Normandie Club, Bibo Ergo Sum and the Walker Inn. The main room runs a seasonal menu organised into six sections, from the lightest and most refreshing through the most spirituous, with zero-proof drinks treated as one of those sections rather than an appendix; a separate walk-up Standing Room bar operates Thursday to Saturday. The zero-proof list currently holds three built cocktails at $16–$18 on genuine non-alcoholic spirits including Seedlip, Ritual, Giffard and Wilderton, backed by non-alcoholic wine and beer from NON, Lyre's, Athletic and Suntory.

A handmade-pasta Italian restaurant on Restaurant Row in Dr. Phillips, part of the North Italia group. This location runs a printed six-item zero-proof cocktail list spanning a coconut-pineapple spritz to a non-alcoholic negroni, poured beside non-alcoholic prosecco, sauvignon blanc, and an Athletic Brewing NA golden ale — a program singled out by Visit Orlando's official mocktail guide.

The Lucky Saint is the alcohol-free beer brand's first permanent pub, on Devonshire Street in Marylebone — a restored Victorian pub built around the alcohol-free pint rather than treating it as an afterthought. It serves a full bar of spirits, wine and cask beer as well, so this is a mixed room rather than a dry one, but the depth of the no-and-low list is the reason to come: around fifteen per cent of drinks sold here are alcohol-free. It pours the brand's own unfiltered 0.5% lager and a newer IPA alongside a rotating range of low- and no-alcohol beers, ciders and cans, Italian aperitivo bitters such as Crodino, and a short list of alcohol-free cocktails, with a full food menu. It is one of the clearest signs of London's shift: a busy, all-day pub where ordering a zero-proof pint is the unremarkable choice.

The Portrait Bar sits inside The Fifth Avenue Hotel in NoMad, a maximalist room hung with portraiture that reads as considered rather than merely lavish. It won its category at the inaugural NYC's Best Bars for NA Awards, where the judges singled out an intimate maximalist setting paired with a confident non-alcoholic list — confident being the operative word, since hotel bars are where zero-proof menus most often collapse into a token pair of juices. It serves alcohol too. Hours are unusually generous for a room of this quality: 5pm to 1am through the week and to 2am on Friday and Saturday, seven days.

Apothéke LA is the West Coast outpost of New York's apothecary-themed Apothéke, at 1746 North Spring Street in Chinatown, opened in 2018 by founder Christopher Tierney after a two-year search for the right Los Angeles site. The room is a Biedermeier-revival fantasy — sconces made from scientific boiling flasks holding glowing herbal tinctures, ornate wooden furniture, velvet cushions and curtains, tufted wallpaper, and a glowing 40-inch marble bar at the centre. CORRECTION: we previously listed The Healer and The Baron's Cure as its non-alcoholic drinks. Neither is on the current zero-proof menu, and The Baron's Cure now appears on the regular list as a fully alcoholic cocktail built on milk-washed bourbon, cognac and overproof rum. What exists instead is a printed "Free-Spirited List" of eight drinks, made from house-made ingredients using organic produce, herbs and botanicals: four tea-based Elixirs built on ashwagandha, schisandra, dandelion root and milk thistle, and four Tonics on named non-alcoholic gin, tequila, vermouth and Pentire. No prices are printed. Open Thursday to Sunday evenings; sophisticated attire encouraged.
