Pentire was founded by Alistair Frost, a North Cornwall surfer and bartender who set out to bottle the flavours of the coastline he foraged. Pentire Drinks Limited was incorporated on 24 May 2018 with a registered office at An Skyber, Trelights, Port Isaac, Cornwall, and the brand launched its first spirit, Adrift, in 2019. Edward Grieg-Gran is named as co-founder.
The spirits are made by distilling coastal botanicals native to Cornwall. Adrift combines rock samphire, headland sage, a Pentire plant blend, citrus and Cornish sea salt for a dry, herbal, faintly briny profile at 4 kcal per 100ml. Seaward is brighter and more fruit-forward, built on pink grapefruit, sea buckthorn and wild seaweed, at 5 kcal per 100ml. Coastal Spritz is a bittersweet aperitif of blood orange, sea rosemary and oakwood distillate with agave syrup and a natural flavouring containing quinine, at 39 kcal per 100ml. All three come in 70cl bottles. Pentire's own FAQ states that every product is non-alcoholic at less than 0.5% ABV.
A ready-to-drink range extends the line into 200ml cans: Paloma, Margarita and a canned Coastal Spritz. Pentire is stocked by UK retailers including Fortnum & Mason, and in a May 2023 press release the company said it had expanded into the United States with Los Angeles as its primary hub and had quadrupled growth in the first six months of building its US business.

The Lucky Saint
Fitzrovia
The Lucky Saint is the alcohol-free beer brand's first permanent pub, on Great Titchfield Street in Fitzrovia — a proper pub where nothing behind the bar will get you drunk. It pours the brand's own unfiltered 0.5% lager and a newer IPA alongside a rotating range of low- and no-alcohol beers, ciders and cans, Italian aperitivo bitters such as Crodino, and a short list of alcohol-free cocktails, with a full food menu. It is one of the clearest signs of London's shift: a busy, all-day pub built entirely without alcohol.
