Grace by Nia

Grace by Nia opened in May 2023 in the Seaport as the second venue from Nia Grace, whose Darryl's Corner Bar & Kitchen in the South End is one of the longest-running Black-owned restaurants in the city. The Seaport room runs to more than 5,000 square feet across restaurant and live entertainment space on the third floor of 60 Seaport Boulevard, with a stage that programmes jazz, soul and other live acts as a core part of the offer rather than as background. Boston Magazine reviewed it in September 2023 as bringing supper-club glamour to the Seaport, and the business was financed through Eastern Bank, which announced the deal in May 2023. Grace has since extended the brand to Foxwoods. The kitchen's Southern menu covers chargrilled oysters, fried catfish bites, bourbon peach ribs, country fried chicken with carrot cake waffles and lobster mac and cheese, with a weekend brunch running brown butter beignets, piri piri shrimp with grits, red velvet pancakes and cajun home fries.

The alcohol-free drinks are printed under their own heading, Free Spirit, and are built on zero-proof spirits rather than being sweet juice mixes, which is what allows them to hold up in a room this loud. Pretty in Pink is $14 and combines Clean Co. alcohol-free tequila with coconut cream, lemon, Red Bull Red Edition and Caliwater cactus water. Prohibition is also $14, built on Free Spirits bourbon with alcohol-free bitters and a habanero pepper maple, served over an oversized rock — the one drink on the list with real heat and bitterness in it. Peach Sweet Tea Lemonade at $8 is the simplest option, made from peach, lemon and sweet tea. Caliwater cactus water is sold on its own at $6 in ginger lime or pineapple, and Heineken 0.0 is stocked at $8 among the bottles and cans.
