Alcohol-Free Things to Do in Atlanta
Atlanta has one of the deepest sober-social scenes in the South, with unusual range. Dedicated alcohol-free anchors lead the way: The Sober Social, a Black woman-owned zero-proof cocktail bar in Castleberry Hill; The Zero Co. in Poncey-Highland and Soberish in Kirkwood, the city's NA bottle shops; and a cluster of fully sober kava lounges (Kava Mama, Tea'z Social, Bakaris). The restaurant side runs deep too, with Michelin-recognized kitchens treating zero-proof drinks as a real menu — Southern Belle, Lazy Betty, and Lyla Lila — plus a serious zero-proof program at James Bond–themed Vesper on the BeltLine. Local breweries Wild Heaven and Halfway Crooks pour their own house-made non-alcoholic beer, while Hop City keeps a dedicated NA tap and bottle wall in Krog Street. Whether you want a morning coffee, a craft mocktail at night, or a bottle to take home, here's how to plan it in Atlanta — no drinking required.

Bakaris Pizza & Kava Lounge
West End
Bakaris Pizza & Kava Lounge has operated in Atlanta's historic West End since 2013, billing itself as the area's original pork-free halal and plant-based pizzeria paired with an alcohol-free kava bar. The venue is fully zero-proof: its entire beverage program centers on kava, the South Pacific root traditionally used for relaxation. Bakaris serves traditional ceremonial kava, instant kava shots, and tropical "kavarita"-style blends, alongside wellness-oriented kava drinks marketed for "calm, clarity, and social vibes without alcohol." To-go ceremonial and instant kava packs are also available. The kitchen turns out halal turkey pepperoni and turkey bacon pizzas plus build-your-own vegan options with plant-based cheese, making it a draw for the Muslim community and sober-curious crowd alike. The lounge runs late-night, doubling as a community and wellness gathering space in Southwest Atlanta.
Bardo
West End
The Bardo is an alcohol-free botanical "elixir bar" and immersive art-and-wellness lounge in Atlanta's West End, founded by herbalist-turned-bartender Luther Ocasio. Originally launched as the roving Altered Bar pop-up, the concept now lives inside the Bardo's design gallery on West Whitehall Street, where Ocasio serves zero-proof "potions" and elixirs built from fruits, herbs, florals, fungi, and adaptogens rather than liquor. It operates by reservation/RSVP only, hosting ticketed sessions such as tea ceremonies, lounge nights, movie nights, and the free weekly "Thirdspace Thursdays" gathering for creatives — so booking ahead is required. Signature non-alcoholic drinks include the Love Potion No. 9 (damiana, rose, pomegranate) and the Purple Haze (butterfly pea flower, lemonade, passion flower, lavender). Ocasio's stated goal is a social, fully sober space open to everyone, not only those in recovery.
Kava Mama
Mechanicsville
Kava Mama bills itself as Atlanta's first sober kava bar, opened in 2017 by Angie Lizarraga, who discovered kava while supporting her son through alcohol addiction and built the bar around that recovery story. Tucked into the Railyard complex in Mechanicsville, it is strictly alcohol-free, with co-owner Shaun Capuy ("Kava Papa") running it alongside Lizarraga. The draw is traditional, hand-squeezed kava served from a coconut shell and sourced directly from Pacific Island farmers — Fijian, Vanuatu, and Tongan varieties — plus flavored kavas, "Kavaritas," and therapeutic and kratom teas. The space leans cozy and community-first, with a mural of island ceremonies, dog-friendly seating, and a regular calendar of game nights, live music, and talent shows. It was profiled by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Fresh Take Georgia as a hub for the city's sober-curious community.
Tea'z Social
Little Five Points
Tea'z Social is a fully alcohol-free kava bar, cafe and social lounge in Atlanta's Little Five Points, opened in December 2024 by co-owners Joe Lewis and Casey Deyton in the former Camelli's Pizza space. The concept centers on kava served in traditional shells, kratom tea and herbal teas, plus a roster of house "ALT-Tails" — zero-proof specialty drinks like the Kava-rita, Strawberries and Cream (kava with strawberry syrup and cream), and Thai Me Up (kava-spiked Thai tea). The space leans into being a "third place," with a rooftop patio, a gaming area with a pool table, and a stage. Programming is community-driven: drag bingo, game nights, "trippy trivia," and live music. A full food menu includes pizza and sandwiches.
The Sober Social
Castleberry Hill
The Sober Social is a fully alcohol-free cocktail and kava bar in Atlanta's Castleberry Hill neighborhood, tucked inside the Koncept House Lofts. Founded by writer and wellness advocate Aja Wolfe in January 2023 — growing out of the "Sober Sundays" gatherings she hosted at home — it is a Black woman-owned, speakeasy-style lounge built entirely around zero-proof drinking. The menu spans handcrafted mocktails made with gin, tequila and bourbon "alternatives," non-alcoholic beer and wine, coffee, kava, herbal and adaptogen elixirs, and hemp-derived Delta-8 "canna cocktails." Signature pours include the Socialite (hibiscus, lime, agave), The Loner (gin alternative, blueberries, lemon), Social Butterfly (passion-fruit lemon drop) and Social Live Wire, an NA espresso-martini-style drink with a Kentucky 74 bourbon alternative. Optional nootropic and adaptogen add-ins are available on request.
Vesper
Glenwood Park
Vesper is a James Bond-themed cocktail and tapas bar that opened in September 2020 in Atlanta's Glenwood Park, just off the BeltLine, from owners Damien McGee and Jon Tilley. The dimly lit, mid-century-inspired lounge — hunter-green walls, jewel-toned velvet seating — leans into Ian Fleming lore, from the namesake Vesper martini to a full "00 Proof" zero-proof cocktail section that the bar builds with the same care as its spirited list. Nearly every mocktail is anchored by Ritual Zero Proof non-alcoholic spirits, with a few using Lyre's. Named alcohol-free options include the Not So Stormy, Bonito, a zero-proof Old Fashioned, Slo Gin Fizz, Paloma and a "Nigroni." The kitchen serves American and Spanish-leaning tapas meant for sharing, indoors or al fresco. Open daily from 5pm.
Commune
Avondale Estates
Commune is a wine bar and hi-fi listening room in Avondale Estates, opened May 8, 2024 by Zopi Kristjanson and music producer/DJ Chris Devoe inside the Olive + Pine development. The wine list is curated by James Beard-nominated sommelier Steven Grubbs, formerly of Empire State South, who keeps an esoteric but approachably priced by-the-glass and bottle program. The space pairs that list with seasonal small plates and a nightly schedule of DJ sets and live performances spanning jazz, funk, Afrobeat, psych rock and post-punk. Alongside wine, cocktails, beer and tea, Commune maintains a standing zero-proof category for non-drinkers, with options including a Phony Negroni, a non-alcoholic sparkling chardonnay, and a rotating herbal zero-proof cocktail. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reviewed it favorably in August 2024, praising its creative, frequently changing food menu, well-trained staff and fair pricing.
Breweries & NA beer
Taprooms serving non-alcoholic beer alongside the full lineup.
Halfway Crooks Beer
Summerhill
Halfway Crooks Beer is a Summerhill brewery founded by Andrew Bainbridge, a career engineer and longtime homebrewer, and Joran Van Ginderachter, a Belgian-trained brewer. Opened in summer 2019 at 60 Georgia Ave SE, it specializes in traditionally executed lagers, pilsners, and mixed-fermentation Belgian-influenced beers, served across a cozy bier café and bar, an open-air "Dak Bar" rooftop, and an adjacent biergarten (both dog-friendly). For non-drinkers, the draw is Brevet Pils, the brewery's own non-alcoholic German-style pilsner (under 0.5% ABV) with notes of subtle fennel, oyster crackers, lemon, and tangerine. As co-owner Shawn Cooper told Atlanta Magazine, brewing it is a technical challenge that requires halting fermentation and pasteurizing for shelf stability. Brevet Pils is poured on-site and distributed in six-packs, making this a rare Atlanta brewery offering a credible house-made NA option.
Wild Heaven Beer
West End
Wild Heaven Beer was founded in 2010 by Georgia natives Nick Purdy and Eric Johnson, making it one of the state's earliest craft breweries. After opening its flagship in Avondale Estates in 2014, the company launched this West End location in late 2019 inside the Lee+White development, directly on the Atlanta BeltLine's Southwest Trail. The 21,000-square-foot brewery and restaurant pours its own craft beer, housemade cocktails, and Georgia farm wines, with food and coffee on site. For non-drinkers, Wild Heaven brews its own zero-proof option: Near Wild Heaven Non-Alcoholic IPA (0.5% ABV), poured on draft alongside the full-strength lineup. Made with Trident, Centennial, and El Dorado hops for grapefruit, pine, and citrus notes, it is also 99.9% gluten-free. Copresident and brewmaster Eric Johnson and head brewer Josh Franks developed the beer, which Atlanta Magazine highlighted in 2025.

Lazy Betty
Midtown
Lazy Betty is a one-Michelin-star tasting-menu restaurant from chef-partners Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips, originally opened in 2019 in Candler Park and relocated in March 2024 to a larger Midtown space at 999 Peachtree Street. The kitchen serves a multi-course modern tasting menu, and the beverage program runs a full zero-proof track alongside its wine and spirits list. The menu carries a dedicated "Zero Proof" section with named N/A cocktails, non-alcoholic wines (Oddbird, Loosen Bros. "Dr. Lo"), and non-alcoholic beer from Athletic Brewing. Guests can have zero-proof cocktails coursed out and paired with each dish, the same way the wine pairing works. Named alcohol-free cocktails include the Celery Gimlet, Blueberry Mule, Strawberry Spritz, and "Spring Dreams Are Made Of These." Forbes called it one of Atlanta's best zero-proof cocktail menus.
Lyla Lila
Midtown
Lyla Lila is a Southern European restaurant in Midtown Atlanta, on the ground floor of the Lilli Midtown tower. It opened December 6, 2019, from chef Craig Richards (formerly of St. Cecilia) and restaurateur Billy Streck; the name combines the founders' daughters' names. The kitchen turns out seasonal southern Italian and Spanish small plates, pasta, and seafood. For non-drinkers, the bar keeps a standing spirit-free cocktail list of roughly six rotating drinks (around $8–9) alongside the full bar. Current named zero-proof options include Cigarettes & Coffee (espresso, grapefruit, yuzu, tonic), Rings of Saturn (spiced oolong, orange, lime, pineapple, almond), and Tahitian Hut (grapefruit, lemon, vanilla, onda), plus Casamara Club builds. The restaurant has earned recognition in the MICHELIN Guide.
Southern Belle
Poncey-Highland
Southern Belle is Chef Joey Ward's New American restaurant in Atlanta's Poncey-Highland neighborhood, opened in fall 2019 two doors from the historic Plaza Theatre. Ward, a James Beard-recognized chef who spent years as executive chef at Gunshow, builds shareable, seasonal plates from locally sourced ingredients, paired with craft cocktails, biodynamic wines, and a notably deep zero-proof program. The restaurant is recommended in the MICHELIN Guide. Its bar keeps a standing "Zero Proof" cocktail section — historically 10 to 12 spirit-free drinks at any time, plus an NA pairing option for the kitchen's tasting fare — making it one of the city's most serious nonalcoholic destinations. Current zero-proof cocktails include Fugazi (botanical spirits, floral aperitivo, elderflower), Purple Rain (blueberry, ginger, pea flower, lemon), Secret Siesta (aperitif, agave spirit, grapefruit, habanero), and Amoreena (amaretto, pineapple, lemon). It connects via a passageway to Ward's tasting-menu spot, Georgia Boy.
Delbar
Inman Park
Delbar — Farsi for "heart, captured" — is a Persian and Middle Eastern restaurant opened in Inman Park in May 2020 by owner Fares Kargar. The flagship sits in the Inman Quarter development and has grown into a small Atlanta group with additional locations in Buckhead and Old Milton; the restaurant is recognized in the MICHELIN Guide. The food leans on shared mezze, kebabs, and family recipes rooted in Iranian cooking. For non-drinkers, Delbar maintains a real, named zero-proof section on its beverage menu rather than generic sodas. Signature options include the Sharbat e Zereshk, a barberry-and-lime sharbat described as tropical and refreshing, and an Iced Coconut Chai Tea built on Persian tea and ginger. The NA program is house-made and culturally grounded in Persian sharbat tradition — a smaller, curated list at a full-service restaurant.
Double Zero
Emory Village
Double Zero is a neighborhood Italian restaurant in Emory Village, owned by Fredrico Castellucci III with John Castellucci as culinary director (part of the Atlanta-based Castellucci hospitality group). The kitchen centers on traditional Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza — built on a heirloom-yeast-starter dough and "double zero" (00) flour that gives the restaurant its name — alongside handmade pasta and shareable Southern Italian dishes. Beyond its Italian wine list and cocktails, Double Zero keeps a dedicated "zero proof cocktails" section on its beverage menu, with three named non-alcoholic drinks: the Bermuda Triangle (rosemary, orange, lime, brine, soda), So Fresh So Clean (turmeric, lime, pomegranate, soda), and Orange is the New Black (orange and lemon juice, fresh ginger, club soda). The space is casual and family-friendly, with bar games including shuffleboard and foosball.
Kitty Dare
Inman Park
Kitty Dare is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in Atlanta's Inman Park, in the storied 1029 Edgewood Ave space. It opened in 2021, founded by owner and wine director Jamshad "Jaamy" Zarnegar, who was born in Iran and previously co-owned Athens' Last Resort Grill; the kitchen is led by chef Giuseppe Esposito, from Italy's Emilia region. The restaurant is named for Zarnegar's late friend, Kitty Dare Etheridge. The menu spans pan-Mediterranean plates such as berbere chicken with saffron rice cakes and bucatini with shrimp. Alongside its wine-forward bar, Kitty Dare runs a small named zero-proof cocktail list built on Amethyst 0.0% spirits. Named alcohol-free drinks include the Kian (Amethyst Blueberry Ginger Mint, lime, simple syrup, ginger beer) and the Farhad (Amethyst Lemon Cucumber Serrano, lemon, simple syrup, mint). The bar opens daily at 4pm.
Southern National
Summerhill
Southern National is a chef-driven Southern restaurant in Atlanta's Summerhill neighborhood, opened July 7, 2023 by chef Duane Nutter and restaurateur Reggie Washington, the James Beard-nominated duo behind the airport restaurant One Flew South; it followed an earlier Southern National in Birmingham, Alabama. The kitchen serves globally inspired Southern cuisine, and the bar program — shaped in part by veteran Atlanta bartenders Greg Best and Paul Calvert — carries a genuine zero-proof section alongside its cocktails and wine. The non-alcoholic list is built around named house mocktails such as the Young Mr. Collins (ISH London Botanical, lemon, cane sugar, soda), the Bluegrass Fizz (blueberry-lemongrass-thyme shrub, lime, sparkling water), and the Bella Sparkler (lemon, OJ, pineapple syrup, tonic), plus a bottled St. Agrestis "Phoney Negroni" and Athletic Brewing's Run Wild N/A IPA.
St. Cecilia
Buckhead
St. Cecilia is chef-owner Ford Fry's coastal-European restaurant, open since January 2014 in Buckhead's Pinnacle Building. Named for the patron saint of music and the sirens of Greek mythology, the 160-seat dining room leans on Romanesque tiled columns and distressed mirrors, with a menu of fresh pastas, crudo, and roasted fish inspired by the Ligurian coast and broader Italian, Spanish, and French shorelines. Its bar has quietly built one of Atlanta's more respected non-alcoholic programs: Resy notes the restaurant "has been offering nonalcoholic cocktails before it was cool." The zero-proof list is opera-themed and built on fresh juice, honey, and herbs rather than packaged NA spirits, with named drinks including Madame Butterfly (grapefruit, lemon, honey), La Bohème (almond, lavender, lemon, pineapple), and Carmensita (blueberry, pomegranate, thyme, lemon).

Soberish
Kirkwood
Soberish is an alcohol-free bottle shop and wellness boutique in Atlanta's Kirkwood neighborhood, founded in August 2023 by real estate attorney and entrepreneur Mehrnush Saadat. Built around the idea that "sober" means something different to everyone, the shop curates a predominantly women-owned selection of non-alcoholic spirits, de-alcoholized wines, aperitifs, and zero-proof beer alongside cannabis and CBD wellness products, barware, and gifts. Saadat personally vets ingredients for natural, low-sugar quality, and the store leans heavily on education, hosting weekly Saturday tastings so guests can sample before buying. Confirmed brands on the shelves include St. Agrestis (Phony Negroni), Lyre's, De Soi, Figlia, and Best Day Brewing. After celebrating its first anniversary in 2024, Soberish expanded with a second location at Serenbe in Chattahoochee Hills.
The Zero Co.
Poncey-Highland
The Zero Co. is Atlanta's first dedicated non-alcoholic bottle shop, opened in December 2022 in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood by Cory and Malory Atkinson, the husband-and-wife team behind nearby Elemental Spirits Co. The shop grew out of the rapidly growing zero-proof section at Elemental and stocks more than 500 non-alcoholic products — spirit alternatives, de-alcoholized wines, NA beers, and ready-to-drink cans — alongside locally made shrubs, vinegars, bitters, and elixirs. A bar-cart sample station lets customers taste before buying, and the space hosts tastings and events. Carried brands include Ghia, Seedlip, Lyre's, Wilderton, Ritual Zero Proof, De Soi, Three Spirit, Free Spirits, Athletic Brewing, and more. As co-owner Malory Atkinson put it, the goal was a "warm and welcoming" space for all kinds of drinkers and non-drinkers.
Hop City Craft Beer & Wine
Krog Street Market
Hop City Craft Beer & Wine is the Krog District (formerly Krog Street Market) outpost of the Atlanta beer-and-wine retailer founded by Kraig Torres in 2009. The location pairs a curated bottle shop with an adjacent full-service bar pouring dozens of rotating draft selections. For non-drinkers, the appeal is two-fold: the shop keeps a deep, dedicated non-alcoholic section, and the bar runs a dedicated N/A draft line that rotates between Untitled Art and Athletic Brewing. The retail NA shelf is one of the broadest in the city, spanning Athletic Brewing (Free Wave, Run Wild, Upside Dawn), Untitled Art, Guinness 0.0, Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher, Brooklyn Special Effects, Best Day, Ghia, and St. Agrestis Phony Negroni, with Sober Carpenter sold by the single. Sitting directly on the Eastside BeltLine trail, it's a practical NA stop whether you want a pour or a six-pack to go.
